Indication at the weekend was that the Federal Government may have finally upgraded the Nigeria’s premier maritime training institution, Maritime Academy of Nigeria (
) Oron, to a university.
Dailynewswire reports that this follows the gazetting of the University of Maritime Studies (Establishment) Act 2022.
The University of Maritime Studies Oron (Establishment) Act repealed the Maritime Academy of Nigeria Act, Cap.M13, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and enacts the University of Maritime Studies, Oron (Establishment) Act 2022
